WWE Smackdown Preview has been waiting for actual crowds to return to WWE weekly events, and we’re stoked for this.
What’s going to make it really interesting is a promised mix of live audience and CGI and tech, so we’re expecting something similar to NXT, but we’ll have to wait and see.
It also looks like we’re going to have some high quality matches to set the table for Money in the Bank this Sunday, so let’s dive into the action!
Edge and The Mysterios vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos
With Edge on a tear through the Bloodline with his chair leg assisted crossfaces and the Mysterios returning to help last week, we’re set for a six man tag match.
This will serve to further feuds for both championships while maximizing the amount of talent in the ring, ie a gimmick match.
This should be a good one, though, and we’re interested to see how the Usos react to being abandoned last week.
There may be some fractures, but will they be enough to cause Jimmy and Jey to abandon Reigns tonight to face his punishment prior to his title defense at MITB?
Smackdown Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella
The Smackdown Women’s Championship has turned into a curious storyline in the wake of Bayley’s unfortunate injury.
While we love Bayley, it seemed highly unlikely she’d win the championship but we would’ve seen a great match. Her talent gave WWE Creative someone to rely on no matter what.
Now, they’re forced to diversify the championship field to include the handful of women stars left on Smackdown.
We’re not sold on the remaining talent being able to fill in for Bayley, but this is a great opportunity for them to step up and Carmella’s first on the list as she’ll challenge Bianca Belair for the title tonight.
This should be a decent match, though we can’t shake the feeling there’s going to be a run in or some other antic that’ll cause a distraction for Belair to win.
It’s been WWE’s go to for a couple of months now instead of just letting their talent wrestle, and it could hurt this match more than help if they add in another twist.
As is the case with us every week, we think it can be a good match if they’re allowed 10 minutes to do their thing. We’ll have to see what happens.
Fatal 4 Way Match – Big E vs. Kevin Owens vs. King Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins
At stake is bragging rights and momentum heading into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Sunday, and WWE Smackdown Preview thinks this will be the match of the night.
There’s too much talent involved for it to be anything else unless there’s interference from any of the disgruntled losers from previous weeks like Sami Zayn or Baron Corbin.
Though we don’t expect anything like this from Corbin, but it’s right up Zayn’s alley to try to take Owens out.
We hope not and we’re crossing our fingers.
