AEW have been making some major moves over the past few months. They were able to get CM Punk back into the wrestling industry, have Bryan Danielson on the way, and more surprises to come. This is because Tony Khan isn’t done signing names to AEW contracts just yet, and has just promised more additions to the roster over the next four to six months.
AEW Have Not Oversaturated Their Roster With Ex-WWE Talent
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Khan said something that really can’t be misconstrued to mean anything else, when he said “I am definitely gonna make multiple additions over the next 4 to 6 months.” when speaking about the AEW roster. Khan has never been shy from bringing in talented names, so long as they are names that can bring attention to AEW.
While some fans have been getting angry that AEW keeps bringing in names who were recently let go from, or primarily made their names in WWE? AEW has done a fine job keeping balance between ex-WWE names, up and coming stars, and indie legends. Just looking at the card for All Out, the only names that have wrestled in WWE somewhat recently are Miro, Christian Cage, Andrade, and Paul Wight. This is four confirmed names, out of twenty-nine names on the card.
Which Names Could We See Brought In By Tony Khan?
When it comes to what names will be brought into AEW, one stands out in Bray Wyatt. He was at an AEW show recently, and has been rumored to be coming into the company once his non-compete clause is up. Wyatt is one of the most creative men in wrestling, but clashing with Vince McMahon in WWE often led to his ideas not quite hitting as nicely as he might have hoped.
Other names that could boost the AEW roster include Buddy Matthews (fka Buddy Murphy), indie stars such as Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia & Lee Moriarty, and potentially Adam Cole & Pete Dunne if they don’t sign new deals with WWE. Braun Strowman is another option, and could soon show up as well, but fans remain split on if they actually want to see him there or not.
