Despite losing to Johnny Gargano in the Love Her Or Lose Her match, the love of Dexter Lumis & Indi Hartwell ws unstoppable. Tonight, this NXT power couple will enter the ring together, as they take on Robert Stone Brand. This is only the second time Robert Stone has stepped into the ring in NXT, making it a truly special occasion.
Catching Up With Io Shirai & Zoey Stark, The NXT Women’s Tag team Champions
Before we’d get to this match, we’d see an interview with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. They’re having a hard time gelling as a tag team, as they’re not friends. However, being friends isn’t what is important; defending the championship is. Starks would claim they just need more work, while Io Shirai just wants to stay partners and focus on the ring. Hopefully they can find their way into a match soon, as we haven’t seen them in the ring in weeks.
Dexter Lumis & Indi Hartwell Show The Power Of Love
Lumis & Hartwell would hit the ring together with some matching gloves and they were in sync during the entrance. Stone would start the match as the crowd chanted Happy Birthday for Hartwell. Showing off an impressive physique to start, Stone would shoot for the single leg takedown… but accomplished nothing. Stone would try to flee to the outside but Franky Monet threw him back in.
Kamea tried to make the save, but ended up being but in the corner and stomped out. Hartwell & Lumis got lost in each others eyes, but Stone didn’t do much to Lumis. Monet tried to help by grabbing the leg of Lumis and got dragged into the ring and thus ejected from the ringside area. Coming back from commercial break, Kamea has been able to get this match under control.
However, Stone would get tagged in and has no chance of doing anything to Lumis. A big spinebuster got a two count, as Lumis let the pin go before Kamea broke it up. Hartwell got a pin on Kamea and Stone put his hands on Hartwell to break it up, much to the displease of Lumis. Kamea would get a single leg crab, before Hartwell got the ropes. After a scuffle on the outside, Hartwell applied Silence in the ring to submit Kamea.
A fun but overall comedic affair from InDex and Robert Stone Brand. There wasn’t a ton of great in-ring work, but it served it’s job. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
