Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and tonight should be a fun one as Roman Reigns and John Cena come face to face again, and King Nakamura attempts to win the Intercontinental Championship from Apollo Crews.
We’ll be back at the 8 p.m. EST showtime to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling, so grab some snacks and settle in.
Segment 1
Cena gave Reigns a D on his report card and promised to give him an F at SummerSlam.
Reigns then came out as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
Reigns challenged Cena to give him something new, and Cena said he only needs the ref to count to 3 about a dozen times, and accused Reigns of almost destroying Seth Rollins and running Dean Ambrose out of the WWE.
Segment 3
Intercontinental Championship – Apollo Crews (c) w/Commander Azeez vs. King Nakamura w/Rick Boogs
This started out decently, then Boogs and Azeez tried to intervene and the ref banned them from ringside as we headed to commercial.
Segment 4
After a solid back and forth, Nakamura hit a kinsasha for the pin and win. We’re excited he won and we hope he has a bigger and better run than the last time.
Segment 5
Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis)
This was a quick match where the profits managed to separate them long enough for Dawkins to hit a popup corkscrew neckbreaker on Gable for the win.
Segment 6
Seth Rollins promised to end Edge’s career at SummerSlam if he has to.
Segment 7
Dominik and Rey Mysterio vs. Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode)
This was a decent match Dominik won with a roll up on Robert Roode for the win.
Segment 8
Baron Corbin came out to beg for a $1000 dollars from everyone there, and Kevin Owens came out and said he’d give him the $1000 if he could beat him in a match.
Corbin insulted him and Owens hit a stunner. Looks like the match is next.
Segment 9
Kevin Owens vs. Baron Corbin
This started off pretty decently as Corbin tried to sneak in a couple of rollups, but Owens took over and went for a piledriver on the apron, but Corbin countered it with a backdrop as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
Corbin came close a couple of times, but Owens hit a stunner for the win, and then another one after the match to drive his point home.
Segment 11
The contract signing almost went off without a hitch, but Banks had Carmella and Zelina Vega come out as witnesses.
They eventually beat Belair down, and Banks locked in a Bank Statement using Belair’s hair.
This was a rough show with the constant back and forths that felt forced and overly verbose.
