We have to admit, we’re glad to see Brock Lesnar back in action in the WWE and we think he and Roman Reigns will have an awesome feud and match.
But his return as raised a couple of questions, and while they may not be the most serious in many ways, they do give us reason to pause and wonder if this storyline will be layered.
At this point, anything’s possible with the WWE so we’re not ruling out any possibility, but we do have to say this is going to be an interesting rivalry for several reasons.
The championship
There’s no doubt Lesnar’s main goal is to recapture the Universal Championship, and he’s more than capable of running through Reigns to reclaim it.
The problem here is he’s not just going against Roman Reigns but Paul Heyman as well, and Heyman knows him as well or better than he knows himself storyline wise.
So, it’s a safe bet Reigns will be prepared for anything Lesnar can throw at him, and the difference will be how much punishment can Reigns endure before he succumbs to Suplex City?
In the end, Lesnar has the best chance of anyone to dethrone Reigns and if he doesn’t we’re going to be very disappointed.
But this also marks a drastic change in Lesnar’s character we haven’t seen in a while and that he’s now a face.
Paul Heyman factor
There’s also the possibility that Lesnar could be out to reclaim Heyman as his manager. It’s doubtful, but given some of the WWE storylines the last couple of years it fits right in there.
In this case, Lesnar could want to redeem Heyman and have him at his side again.
But since Heyman tends to manage the heels, this would make Lesnar a heel again but it’d be a move that would put him back on top of the wrestling mountain.
Or, and this is the most likely scenario, Heyman will insult and deride Lesnar until the actual match and then he’ll try to lure him into a false sense of security.
Reigns would then attack and possibly win.
Of course, there’s always the chance that Heyman will flee a sinking ship and if Reigns is in serious trouble he could switch his allegiance to Lesnar and Lesnar’s going to getting the title and Heyman back is complete.
This would be a pretty interesting side story for Lesnar and Reigns’ feud, and it could open up other options assuming Lesnar will remain with the WWE for more than a few months.
Given the WWE’s current habit of bringing back Legends for a fast and short run, this subplot could be a big ask.
Do you think layers will be added to Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ feud or will they keep it simple? And what wrinkles would you like to see them do? Let us know in the comments below.
