When Bobby Lashley mauled Kofi Kingston at Money in The Bank, it looked like there was truly no one who could have stopped him. That is, unless a legend would return for a shot. Goldberg returned for the first time since Royal Rumble to challenge Lashley, and look to become the oldest world champion in WWE history. But is an aged Goldberg any match for The Almighty? Or will he crumble in front of his son? Gage will be there after Lashley was brought into this, and will be front and center to see who his father is.
Lashley would hit the ring with the championship and MVP on hand, however any entrance he could muster pales in comparison to Goldberg. He isn’t the man he once was, but his entrance is still awe inspiring. As he walks down you always gotta think he’ll hit the ring with purpose and ready to win. But all the same, the long walk had him winded and it was likely longer than the projected match.
Bobby Lashley Puts Goldberg Down
They’d stare holes through each other as they paced around. A lockup would follow, with neither man wanting to give up, but Goldberg got him into the corner for a clean break. He’d shove Goldberg and go for a shoulder tackle only to take a jumping one from Goldberg. A bodyslam would follow, and a front slam. Goldberg rushed in with some lariats, and was manhandling the WWE Champion.
Lashley would fight back, and would look to hit the Jackhammer on Goldberg, but Goldberg was gonna give a lesson on how it’s done. Instead, Lashley hit a flatliner and some elbows to the back of the head. He’d go up top and be recklessly chucked off by Goldberg before MVP saved him from a spear.
The spear still came on the outside of the ring, and Goldberg got him back in. MVP hit Goldberg in the knee with his cane before a chop block from Lashley. A spinebuster and The Hurt Lock would follow, with Goldberg fighting it off before taking another chop block. Goldberg rolled to the outside, where Lashley rammed his knee first into the post. A second would follow, and Goldberg couldn’t stand up, this one ending in a referee stoppage.
A blockbuster of a match, with Goldberg playing his role perfectly alongside Lashley. This kept Goldberg as a threat while Lashley looked like a beast for beating the legend until he couldn’t stand. It was fun if nothing else, the perfect Goldberg match. Match Rating: 1.25/5 (* 1/4)
After the match, he’d go after Goldberg with a steel chair, hitting him again and again. Gage hit the ring and was taken out with Hurt Lock. Will Goldberg seek revenge? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
