Steven and Alina met on a language app and they decided to get married after on year if dating. Their plan was to tie the knot in Turkey and relocate to Russia, but now, Steven has cold feet. Fans mocked the mormon for not doing a proper research before relocating , and they are now wondering if the hitchhiking incident was a set up.

The duo reunited in Antalya, where steven booked them different apartments because he was concerned about “skoodilypoop” and hampering her future baptism.
Alina was able to convince him to stay with her and Sunday night’s episode saw them heading to an immigration lawyer. On getting there, Steven was taken aback by the extensive process.
Fans are still trying to wrap their heads around Steven’s nonchalance even though they are still recovering from the fact that he and his woman hitchhiked to get to the immigration lawyer’s office because he thought it was a “cheap mode of transportation.”
Fans are now discussing how Steven, who fans have referred to as a “creep” before, did not really do any “hitchhiking” as there was a camera crew filming him and his girlfriend. A Reddit user, u/mime454 said that they found it impossible to believe that the TLC star randomly stopped a vehicle off the street, since “the crew were following the ‘stranger’s’ car from the moment it took off with another car behind it.”
They wondered if the producers wants viewers to pretend like the camera crew isn’t there and if Steven’s “weird behavior” is fabricated. A Twitter user California Aurora, wrote, “This show is getting so fake it’s not even funny anymore. Steven’s hitchiking was a producers fairytale.”

Another fan Chinita Jenelle wrote, “Steven thinks he’s living on the edge by hitchhiking in Turkey with a camera crew.” Steven’s action was dangerous and has given fans more reasons to believe that he is not mature enough to get married. But that would have been impossible to achieve without TLC crew following them.
Redditors commenting on a thread by u/Johnnycat think that the producers paid a rideshare driver to drive them or that the person in the car was a member of the TLC crew. The driver was alone in the car but was also wearing a face mask when he pulled up, which suggests that the scene may be fake.
TLC has been called out many times for their fake storylines. This includes Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas‘ secret wedding that was recently revealed to fans even though they had known about it for a while.
