Suzuki-Gun has truly arrived in AEW. Professional wrestling’s most dangerous mercenaries have been pissed off by Jon Moxley and AEW, after leader Minoru Suzuki had his iconic entrance cut short. Things would quickly escalate, and tonight blood could flow. We have Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston for AEW, Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki for Suzuki-Gun. This one is Light’s Out rules, so AEW is turning a blind eye and the referee is just there to count a pinfall.
Suzuki-Gun Ichiban!
There’s been enough talk, and the lights went off. After they came back on, the sanctioned part of the show was over. We have an unsanctioned lights out match! Archer would hit the ring first – with handfuls of kendo sticks. Minoru Suzuki wouldn’t need weapons – he’s a walking weapon. You don’t help create MMA without being one, and this is a former King of Pancrase – as well as world champion all across Japan.
Suzuki & Archer got the jump on Moxley & Kingston, with Suzuki getting a chair and giving one to Moxley to duel with him. Moxley would fall, and Kingston would get to fight Suzuki – something that he had to hide excitement about. They’d exchange chops in the middle of the ring, before Kingston went out to get a table.
Suzuki just sent Kingston through the table, before taking on Moxley alongside Archer. A chokeslam into a PK would punish Moxley, before Archer chokeslammed Moxley onto ringside workers. Archer grabbed a strap as Moxley went blow for blow with Suzuki before being hung with the strap.
Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston Get Some Help
Back from the final commercial break, Moxley was no longer being hung over the ropes which was an improvement. He did have his hands duct taped behind his back and was getting strapped by Suzuki, before choking Moxley some more. Suzuki would grab a single leg crab for a second, before letting the hold go.
Kingston went after Archer, but was beaten off. Moxley would try to get up, but was just being punched and bitten by Suzuki. Suzuki-Gun were in complete control, and this is just two of their members. ZSJ, Taichi, DOUKI, El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru are in Japan after all. Kingston would make the save, resorting to an eye poke on Archer before Machine Gun Chops.
Archer hit the swinging side slam, before choking Moxley in the corner some more. Chairs were set up back to back and Blackout set up, but the music of ROH & Impact Wrestling legend – and just New York in general Legend – Homicide would hit to a huge reaction. He’d go to work on Archer & Suzuki, freed Moxley and get thrown out. Moxley played possum and hit two Paradigm Shifts – before Archer had a trash over his head and was beaten half to death with a kendo stick for the win.
An absolute war like everyone wanted. Putting these four men in a match like this is asking for violence, and violence we got. Just a weapons spotfest with top talent and a great mood. A good babyface comeback and a huge moment with Homicide showing up in AEW. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
