Lately, Game Changer Wrestling fans have had to put up with Matt Cardona as their champion. He had managed to defeat Nick Gage in a deathmatch, and has since then been insufferable to fans. However, things have now picked up, as Jon Moxley has shown up in GCW once again and took the championship for himself.
Matt Cardona Finally Gets Caught
This all went down in the main event of GCW: The Art Of War Games, which featured the classic WCW match as Nick Gage led Team MDK against the Ricky Shane Page led 44OH! Gage had picked an elite team of AJ Gray, Alex Colon, Effy, Mance Warner, & Matthew Justice, which helped him get the win after 37 violence filled minutes.
After this hellacious match, Matt Cardona would have a match against non-wrestler, Frank The Clown. He won in 11 seconds, and after such a hard fought battle he was ready to call it a night. However, Jon Moxley would emerge, get a surprise title shot, and manage to drop Cardona within a minute to become the GCW World Champion.
Elsewhere on the show, we saw Tony Deppen defeat Allie Katch, Billie Starkz defeat Janai Kai, and Ninja Mack defeats Dante Leon and Jake Lander and Jordan Oliver and Nick Wayne and Shane Mercer and Yoya in a “Two Ring Ladder Scramble Fuckfest Match”.
Jon Moxley Is Set For A Violent Clash With Nick Gage
This simply adds fuel to the fire between Nick Gage & Jon Moxley. They have previously brawled in GCW, and over a decade ago had some deadly matches in CZW. Fans have been awaiting their eventual match, and now Gage will be fighting to reclaim the championship many still view as belonging to him.
Gage would come out and cut a promo saying that since Moxley is now the GCW World Champion their match will be happening in GCW – not AEW with their fake glass. He announced that he will be facing Moxley in a death match for the title at GCW’s show in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, October 9.
