With a new era of NXT finally here, there is a returning star getting a second chance on the brand. During her first run in NXT, Mandy Rose didn’t really do anything. She’d mainly do house shows and only showed up on TV a few times before heading to RAW & Smackdown. Now she’s back and looking to really change the game. Alongside Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne, Toxic Attraction is potentially set to do what Undisputed Era did with mens titles – and get complete domination.
NXT 2.0 Has A Chance To Build A Golden Faction Around Mandy Rose
The first episode of NXT 2.0 already made it clear that they’re keen to build new stars. Bron Breakker and Von Wagner stood out the most, but while Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne were on NXT before the rebrand, they’re very fresh names. They’ve been proving themselves to be a great tag team, something that the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships need. While Io Shirai brings star power, her team with Zoey Stark has been pretty bland and fans want them to lose the belts.
Meanwhile, Mandy Rose seems set for a major singles run with Jayne & Dolin backing her up. She has an issue with Sarray to take care of first and foremost, after Sarray broke her face with a dropkick, which is a feud which should benefit both ladies. Raquel Gonzalez doesn’t have much left in her reign, and while Kay Lee Ray or Franky Monet seem like the obvious choices to beat her, we can’t count out Rose & Toxic Attraction.
These three ladies could be the strong female faction that NXT never got. We’ve had tag teams, and even alliances with War Games, but never a faction. If NXT 2.0 wants to carve a new identity, this is a great first step. I’m not suggesting they instantly win all the titles, but if they were to have a gold rush in due time, it could really push the division ahead.
