The start of this show saw Tommaso Ciampa look to kick off the new era of NXT 2.0 and his second reign as NXT Champion, only for Pete Dunne to cause a brawl. With Ridge Holland by his side, he’d still get thrown out by Ciampa & Bron Breakker. Breakker might just be looking to get close to the champion, but tonight he will team with him in his first NXT 2.0 main event.
Bron Breakker Steps Up For A Big Main Event
Holland & Dunne have more chemistry based on atleast being aligned for a month, but Breakker & Ciampa are both very dangerous. Ciampa & Dunne started off where they left off last week, with Ciampa going for a backslide and Dunne slipping out. Dunne avoided the Fairytale Ending, before looking for a running punt.
Holland & Breakker tagged in, and we’d get some big sweaty men slapping meat. Breakker is a freak, and took a forearm blow from Holland and wanted more. Holland hit a running shoulder tackle, before Breakker getting one of his own before rolling into a front slam. Breakker was showing serious wrestling skill, and followed up by catching a leaping Dunne with a powerslam.
Ciampa was back in, and would apply a tight headlock to Holland. He recalls what Holland did to Thatcher, and was enjoying a chance at some revenge. However he’d be slammed down and hit with a dropkick from Dunne – who had gotten a blind tag. Dunne would target the arm, and manipulated some joints like he’s still Stallion Pete.
Kyle O’Reilly Gets Some Payback For Last Week
Ciampa would try to fight free, before being hit with an armbreaker. He’d have to fight off both Holland & Dunne, and would be successful briefly before taking a pounce from Holland as we went to a final commercial break. Back from the break, Holland was beating down Ciampa in the ring before taking a vertical suplex.
Breakker wanted the tag, and he’d get it and charge right into a now legal Pete Dunne. He was a house of fire and hit a huge Belly to Belly Suplex. Steiner (or Breakker) Recliner was applied, and we were seeing his roots here. Dunne jammed the fingers into the mat to break before stomping the arm out. Ciampa would make a save and trade blows with Dunne, before being thrown by Holland.
Breakker would throw Dunne, and the powerhouses were back to it with a double lariat. Ciampa would take the trudgeon away from Dunne, before Holland went back for it. Kyle O’Reilly would be back and got Holland with it. Dunne was hit with Willows Bell, and Breakker hit the Press Slam into Powerslam for the win.
A fun and chaotic tag team match that really showed that Breakker is the real real. He looked more natural than Holland in the ring, and using Steiner moves will keep getting him love from fans. A solid match, and Ciampa vs. Breakker is on it’s way and should rock. Match Rating: 3.25/5 (*** 1/4)
