The Elite story feels like it came to a wall with not really anything pushing it forward. It’s starting to feel like it’s just there with no payoff at the end and no tease of what’s to come. However, that may change with a new signing of a current free agent. This being the highly teased Adam Cole.
Who was once a part of the faction that enabled both Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. Adam Cole is now massively teased for AEW with Britt Baker and former stablemates, all teasing that Adam Cole will be signing with AEW in the near future. He is currently a free agent, so it could happen realistically at any point.
Kenny Omega Vs. The Bucks
The Elite run on AEW has been a long run. It didn’t have the best start but then got going when the Young Bucks joined Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers. It’s currently unknown where this story could go. Adam Cole could be the thing that breaks up the now Super Elite. It could end up with the Young Bucks joining Adam Cole with Kenny Omega staying with the Good Brothers. Adam Cole and Young Bucks have been together before.
Heel Vs. Face
All this will lead to two sides of the Elite. One side a heel with Kenny Omega and the Good Brother. Then the babyface will be Adam Cole and the Young Bucks. It does make sense that Adam Cole will be the good guy in this story, as there is no doubt that fans will be happy for his debut and shout ‘Bay Bay’ on his entrance. However, that doesn’t feel like a heel move.
The heel turn could be done later down the line. This could lead to some great matches between both sides and could even lead to different people joining up with Kenny Omega. There could be a great story told through this if Adam Cole signs with AEW, and it’s looking more likely every day.
