The Usos alongside Roman Reigns currently run Smackdown Live, and tonight Street Profits have a chance to break their iron grip on the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. This has the potential to be the match that steals the show, with two of the top teams in the world going to war. The Usos losing won’t sink The Bloodline, but they know that Reigns won’t be impressed should they lose.
Montez Ford was left alone on Friday and took a three on one beatdown after losing to Roman Reigns in the main event, with Angelo Dawkins at a wedding. Tonight they’re on the same page and would look for some revenge – and to win more gold.
Street Profits Aren’t Coming In At 100%
The ribs of Ford would be heavily taped tonight after that vicious attack, but Jimmy & Dawkins would start the fight. They’d lock up in the corner, but once free Dawkins ran Jimmy down with a shoulder tackle. Dawkins was focused here, and would take down ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso with ease as well. Ford tagged in and hit a big dropkick, before Dawkins joined him to dump both opponents to the outside.
Jey would finally get some big blows in on the ribs of Ford and alongside Jimmy draped him across the top ropes. It’s important to remember that while they’re called ropes, they’re more hard steel cables. A backdrop on the floor would do little to help the back of Ford, and he’d have the tape ripped off. Ford was isolated in the middle of the ring, and stretched to a tag but couldn’t get the hand of Dawkins. He’d manage to avoid a Stinger Splash, and Dawkins was back in.
Dawkins would be a house on fire, hitting slams, splashes and a big bulldog, before taking a kick to the face. He’d catch a dive to the outside and nail an exploder suplex, before stopping Jimmy in his tracks. A superplex into a twisting neckbreaker got a two count, before Dawkins set up a super blockbuster with Ford. Ford would crash down hard and was slow on the pinfall.
The Usos Don’t Miss
Dawkins would smartly grab a tag, but get caught with a double slam by The Uso’s for a two count. He’d take the running hip attack, but Ford snuck a tag in. Sky High into the Frog Splash combo was countered, but Ford was able to kick out and get two close falls. Another super blockbuster attempt was countered, and Dawkins took a superkick and Uso Splash for a near fall.
Dawkins made a tag before being taken outside and driven into the barricade, before Ford soared onto The Usos to take them out – and nailing that From The Heavens Splash for the two count – a save being all that kept The Usos champs. Dawkins saved Ford from a double superkick before Ford got a near fall, only to take a double kick, before the Uso Crazy Double Splash for the win.
