While Tommaso Ciampa is now the NXT Champion, there is one man who still has a claim to it. Kyle O’Reilly got beaten down by Ridge Holland & Pete Dunne, causing him to miss his title shot in the Fatal Four Way. He was replaced by Von Wagner, and was set to be away for a while. However, O’Reilly returned last week – and this week gets a chance to teach Ridge Holland a lesson in respect.
Speaking of Ciampa, earlier in the night he was called out in a promo by Bron Breakker, who said No bones about it, my goal is to be #WWENXT Champion. Tommaso Ciampa, I’m not a patient guy.” Ciampa isn’t phased however, and he is ready to take Breakker down a peg. He’d say the following about his chances of losing: “Nobody ever beat me for this before, and nobody is going to beat me for this now.”
Kyle O’Reilly Came Here To Fight
O’Reilly would strike before Ridge would hit the ring, and start a huge brawl at ringside. The referees were able to hold Pete Dunne back, to even the odds, and it’s clear the type of O’Reilly that was had tonight. There’s no Kool Kyle here – because there’s murder behind those eyes.
Order was resorted and Holland would slow O’Reilly down with a big suplex and a reverse bearhug. O’Reilly was able to battle his way free, only to take a backbreaker and a suplex. Another bearhug was applied, and Holland was smart to target the back. A bell clap got him free, before he’d grab a front choke. Holland threw him aside, before taking some heavy strikes.
O’Reilly would nail a dragon screw and nail a knee strike before going for an armbar. Holland overpowered him, and slammed him into the corner before a tilt-a-whirl sideslam for a two count. A big powerbomb would follow, and O’Reilly wasn’t looking great. He’d have to cut Holland down with two chop blocks and a forearm smash, but Dunne ran a distraction.
Holland would be shoved into Dunne on the apron and rolled up for the win, and Von Wagner had to save O’Reilly once again. Wagner & O’Reilly fought off Dunne & Holland – perhaps setting up a tag team match. Why does Wagner keep helping O’Reilly? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
