With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 tomorrow, tonight’s Smackdown is going to be the best we’ve seen in a long time and WWE Smackdown Preview is stoked for the matches and recaps.
WWE Smackdown was the first public event to be held following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and to open the night Vince McMahon gave an awesome patriotic speech about the importance of continuing on.
So we expect something on the same level to try to help bring people together and enjoy the show in Madison Square Garden.
With so much happening, let’s get to tonight’s preview.

Brock Lesnar returns
Lesnar’s return at SummerSlam shocked Roman Reigns and a lot of people as he came out to boisterous cheers.
Then last week he surprised Paul Heyman by calling him and asking him to tell Reigns he’ll be at this week’s Smackdown.
This should be a fun segment when Lesnar and Reigns come face to face again, and we expect the Tribal Chief to have a trap set up but Lesnar will fight through it with ease to get the faceoff to close the night.
Edge to finish Seth Rollins for good
After Rollins copied Edge last week in an attempt to injure Cesaro, Edge ran in and pledged to end Rollins’ run any way he can in a SummerSlam rematch between two of the best the business has ever seen.
This will be an awesome match, and we expect Edge to win since there’s no need to keep rehashing this feud, but this is the WWE so we’re crossing our fingers.
Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair contract signing
Now that Lynch is being forced to defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Belair in what’s quickly become the least interesting storyline, we get a contract signing for Extreme Rules.
We expect more of Lynch trying to be her new heel persona and the fans will cheer, which will continue leaving Belair stuck trying to navigate and win back the crowd, which will probably result in some piped in cheers to help.
The WWE has mishandled this badly from the 27 second match to now. Belair’s in a no win situation and the fans are not going to turn on Lynch after she was gone so long.
She deserves better.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship – The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits
We’re in for what should be a great match, even if the feud’s become repetitive at this point.
The Usos may try to get themselves disqualified, but we have a feeling it won’t work this week and they’ll be some kind of stipulation added.
In the end, we think the Usos will retain and they’ll move onto one of the other couple of tag teams on Smackdown.
