Last week’s Smackdown was the best WWE Smackdown Preview has seen in a long time and reports have said they were elated backstage and feel they can put on that kind of show weekly.
That’s good news if they follow through on it as they closed the show off with Finn Balor come out to confront Roman Reigns as the Demon to set the stage for their Extreme Rules match.
We expect more of the same this week as Reigns deals with coming face to face with the Demon as well as Brock Lesnar lurking for his title shot should Reigns defeat the Demon.
This has plenty of possibilities as a storyline, and it’ll be interesting to see how everything works out in the coming weeks.
Another rematch
After winning last week’s match through disqualification when Reigns locked in a guillotine choke on Montez Ford, we expect yet another rematch between the Usos and Street Profits tonight.
Or at least a group complain section with Alpha Academy, the Dirty Dawgs, and the Mysterios wanting their shot at the titles. This will lead to a four way with the winner facing the Usos at Extreme Rules.
The winner will be the Street Profits because what’s wrong with another rematch?
Edge’s future, Rollins’ change
After their match last week brought the house down, Edge was taken out or the building in an ambulance with Seth Rollins not knowing how to feel or what to say.
We’ll get an update on Edge where he’s recuperating and will determine his future when he’s healthy.
This will give him a break and set up another miraculous return or he may actually retire again if he feels he accomplished everything he set out to do storyline wise.
As for Rollins, it’s going to be interesting to see how he handles last week’s actions.
It’s possible that he’s gotten rid of his anger and could be ashamed of himself and become a face again to make up for his actions.
Or, most likely, he’ll feel fresh and rejuvenated now that he’s managed to close a chapter instead of being thwarted, and it’ll open him up for a new feud as the WWE heads into the draft in a couple of weeks.
Until then, we won’t be surprised if he has a couple of matches with Cesaro, or maybe even one of the younger talent to help set up a future run.
For the first time WWE Smackdown Preview is excited for what’s to come and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us tonight.
