One of the biggest shocks of All Out was the debut, and then heel turns on All Out. With everyone already expecting Bryan Danielson to debut due to a report a couple of months ago near, around the same time that CM Punk was rumoured. Adam Cole was a massive surprise after his contract ran out only weeks before the PPV. It seems like they were against the clock to sign Adam Cole before All Out. After Adam Cole’s contract ran out six months earlier than initially planned for both Adam Cole and WWE. WWE’s reaction to Adam Cole appearing at AEW has now been revealed.
No one was surprised
It’s reported that everyone in WWE expected him to leave and not resign, meaning that many weren’t surprised at seeing him at the PPV. However, even after talks with Vince McMahon went well, it seems like there was nothing changing Adam Cole‘s mind. Even the highly rumoured 1 million a year didn’t seem to make any changes to where Adam Cole was going. Even in the media scrum Adam Cole said that it was an easy decision. Making it look like Adam Cole was always going to AEW even if the contact ended in 6 months.
The door seems to open one day
It has also been reported that there are only good words to say about Adam Cole after leaving. It is likely that we may not see Adam Cole change companies for a while, but it does seem like the door is open for a return in the future. Adam Cole is currently in his early 30s, meaning that he has nearly a decade left in wrestling. It’s possible we may see Adam Cole in AEW for a very long time, but with everything ending on good terms, a return is possible at some point in the future.
