The Elite are looking to maintain a run on the top of AEW, with Kenny Omega as the AEW World Champion – but Hangman Page is moving in on that for Full Gear. Because of this, on this special Halloween episode of AEW Dynamite – The Elite are once again taking on the best friends of Hangman Page eight man tag team match! Adam Cole, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks are a hard match for anyone, but John Silver, Colt Cabana, Stu Greyson, & Evil Uno are some of the best Dark Order has to offer.
Costume Clad Or Not, These Are Top Stars
Grayson was dressed as Kratos, Cabana was Brandon Cutler, Silver was Bambi and Uno was a cowboy! The Elite would be the Ghostbusters, including a remixed theme song! All fun aside, these are eight of the best in AEW – and Cole would start with Silver to start things off. He’d lock up with Silver twice and be shoved off both times.
Bambi horn assisted headbutt was followed up with a backdrop, before Uno tagged in. Omega would follow, and had the Proton Pack still on and it was used to block a splash from Uno. Nakazawa would hit a splash on the outside, and Omega got a one count before Matt Jackson tagged in and Uno ran him down. Silver tagged in before everyone charged in and Cabana got some cold spray before a triple scoop slam.
Grayson would nail a swinging DDT before taking a boot from Adam Cole, Omega would hit some jabs in the corner before stomping Grayson out. The Dark Order was taking liberties with Grayson, Cole applying the Camel Clutch and getting a smooch from the Young Bucks. He’d dodge a charge from Omega and have to fight free, walking over the Bucks and hitting a hurricanrana.
The Elite Steal A Win Try To Steal A Win – Dark Order Gets Help From A Friend
Cabana would nail some punches before a Bionic Elbow, and setting up a DDT from Nick to Matt! Cole saved the match, but Silver was running down the Elite at ringside before he knew it. Nick took a huge German Suplex but Silver took a superkick party. SnapDragon from Omega and Last Shot from Cole, but Grayson made the save. Things broke down, and the referee was taken out.
A low blow for anyone in the Dark Order followed, before a four way Proton Pack sandwich and a powerbomb onto the pile! A man in a horse costume would come to the ring, with the rest of Dark Order. He’d be kicked low and took a BTE Trigger, but it was actually Brandon Cutler! Instead, it was Hangman Page in the StayPuff Marshmallow Man costume! He’d nail Deadeye on Omega, Silver nails Spindoctor and the night was won!
This was a match that had equal comedy and action, something not out of place in PWG. They pushed the story of Hangman & Omega ahead in unexpected ways, and the crowd loved it – which is what is important. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
