The Lucha Bros are finally the top act in all of AEW’s tag team division. They defeated The Young Bucks in one of the greatest steel cages matches we’ve ever seen to win the belts to prove their spot on top, and now are taking on all comers. Butcher & The Blade have already tried and failed, and tonight The Acclaimed look to take the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Lucha Bros Don’t Mind Working A Fast And Furious Pace
Before Lucha Bros even finished their entrance, The Acclaimed would attack from behind. A brawl outside saw Caster ram Fenxi off the post, before starting the match up properly. Penta would tag in and hit a kick to the head before Lucha Bros sandwiched him. Bowens would take some kicks next, before a double superkick from The Lucha Bros.
The cazadora splash would get both members of The Acclaimed, but Bowens would block a dive to the outside from Fenix using a boombox. Penta was thankfully legal, and Caster would use his power to block a DDT and turn it into a suplex. Bowens hit a running senton before getting a two count. The Acclaimed just needed to keep the pressure coming, especially while Fenix is down.
Penta would take out both men with a DDT, and Fenix had recovered. Bowens got a kick to the face, and Caster ate a solebutt next. Fenix nailed the cutter for a two count, before taking a big superkick from Caster. A double cutter took The Acclaimed down, but Bowens would hit a big forearm blow. They’d set up The Mic Drop, but Penta made the save before Fear Factor closed this one out.
The Lucha Bros are getting to really shine in AEW now, as they no longer play second fiddle to The Young Bucks. They’d show their unique and fast paced offense, also bringing out the best in The Acclaimed here. It was non-stop action, but in a way that made sense from start to finish.
