No one expected WWE to ever release someone like Braun Strowman from their contract, but that is what happened earlier this year. He was cut alongside many others with the reason given being “budget reasons” which actually makes sense for Strowman. Being a former Universal Champion and one of their main event stars, and as such likely had a big money contract. Strowman might not find that money with other companies, but he might have found his new home in professional wrestling.
Scott D’Amore & Braun Strowman Seen Talking In Detroit
First reported by PWInsider, Braun Strowman has had a recent meeting with Scott D’Amore of Impact Wrestling. D’Amore is currently the Executive Vice President of the company, and someone with a lot of sway because of this. This makes a meeting with him and potentially huge signing like Strowman major news.
The report stated that they met at a hotel bar nearby Motor City Comic Con in Detroit, Michigan. Scott D’Amore was waiting around for someone, who would turn out to be none other than Braun Strowman. They’d sit and talk for quite some time, and while we have no confirmation on a deal being made – it was a lot of time to discuss a debut for an upcoming event.
A Huge Surprise For Bound For Glory?
At Bound For Glory, Impact Wrestling has advertised plenty of surprises for their upcoming show. This is one of – if not their biggest show of the year, and they enjoy pulling out all the stops due to this. Braun Strowman is a name that people have been hoping to see pop up somewhere, and other names like Buddy Murphy & Bray Wyatt are also on the wish list of fans.
This would be huge for Impact Wrestling, and we could see Strowman become someone they build around in the future.
