When Braun Strowman was released from WWE, everyone expected him to make a huge splash. However, he’s kept his head down. We’ve seen him work a “Control Your Narrative” show with EC3, but that is about it. He was a no show for the Impact Wrestling Bound for Glory PPV despite prevalent rumors about his debut, and we haven’t had any hints of him being signed by All Elite Wrestling either. Now, with a single announcement – it seems like there will only be one chance to see the man now known as “The Titan” Adam Scherr in the ring for the rest of 2021.
Adam Scherr (fka Braun Strowman) Has Kept Quiet Since Leaving WWE
Taking to Twitter to hype this appearance, Scherr would have the following to say. “Seeing this is probably the only show I’m gonna do for the rest of the year, I couldn’t think of anywhere better to do one then my back yard in Wisconsin!” before giving details on the December 4th event. It’s not actually in his backyard, but rather an expo center in Waukesha – he’s not resorted to winter backyard wrestling.
This kinda helps to shut down any rumors of potential debuts for places like Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. Scherr is seemingly taking it easy and keeping his head down – an odd move for someone who had every chance to capitalize on a lot of hype following his WWE release. It’s easy to forget his final match in WWE was a main event for the WWE Championship.
Could He Be Gearing Up For A Royal Rumble Return?
This has led to a new wave of speculation on if we can expect him to return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. He’s kept away from signing deals with any other promotions, even after being seen having a lengthy conversation with Scott D’Amore of Impact Wrestling. We’ve also not seen him speak ill of WWE, and burning that bridge in the process.
His release was noted as being for budget cuts, like all the others that came this year – and this actually makes sense for him. Strowman was a main event player in WWE, and was likely bringing in big money as a cause. We could see WWE try to bring him back in on a deal for less money, but potentially with better scheduling and some creative control.
At the end of the day, fans simply want to see Braun Strowman or The Titan on their TV’s again. He’s a popular heavyweight, and it would suck to see him stick to small time indy shows when he’s in his prime. Where do you hope to see him show up in 2022?
