AEW Rampage viewership has been dipping every week since CM Punk debuted for the company. A lot of this is due to the not very good time slot for the show. The lack of surprises for the whole show due to it being pre-recorded and it being a bit too short. Rather than 2 hours, it’s only 1 hour. It feels like something big is going to have too much change for AEW to build up the viewership. One of these is to take some inspiration from the past and move it to Saturday night.
Why would AEW Rampage fit on Saturday?
In the past, on TBS, WCW did have a show on Saturdays. However, Rampage is reported to be staying on TNT, meaning that Rampage would have to be moved to Saturday nights. Unless they swap around the shows where AEW Dynamite is on the Saturday night and Rampage is on the Wednesday.
AEW Dynamite is already being pushed onto Saturday. It’s possible that it could fit perfectly there, but we will have to wait for viewership confirmation for the Saturday night episode.
Rampage needs some big changes
Rampage hasn’t even been around for a year yet, and changes to the show is very likely. AEW Dynamite started off going head to head with NXT. Even though they beat them on a weekly basis. The viewership still dipped, and if Rampage and Dynamite weren’t on days WWE were on, it’s possible that they would grow on a faster rate.
There’s no doubt that war between both companies will still thrive but on different days. Currently, there is no mention of changing days, but it feels like a big mix up could work wonders for the company in the future.
