There is no doubt that streaming services have blown up over the years. With this, every other form of media has to adapt. One of them is obviously wrestling. WWE has now partnered with Peacock, and Impact is trying to do this through YouTube and Twitch. Tony Khan has now gone into detail of how AEW’s library could be on Warner Bros streaming services in the future.
Warner Bros Is on the cards
Speaking to Brandon Walker, Khan said:
“I’m talking to great people about WarnerMedia and AEW partnering. I think there are great opportunities. I work with one of the biggest media companies in the world and they have a lot of great ideas. Hopefully, we can make a solution for the fans. Believe me. I get asked that question every day.
I’m trying to build the library up. We’ve done over 100 episodes of Dynamite, pay-per-views, streaming specials. I have something nobody has ever seen before with The House Always Wins, a pay-per-view level card. It’s something I’ve been saving and it’s a great show nobody has ever seen. It’s going to be available.”
we see some one-off specials?
It’s possible that if AEW does make a deal with a streaming company, specials could become a stronger possibility. Tony Khan has mentioned that he is trying to build up that library before making a deal. In the past, we have seen some massive in-house matches that are on a PPV level.
It’s possible that we may see these shows on a streaming service. But a documentary is very possible to see in the near future. The subscription service makes it possible for them to do this.
