Carmello Hayes was able to out-swerve Swerve to keep the NXT North American Championship in the brand. However, now former three time champ Johnny Wrestling is coming for it, and was able to claim the belt when Hayes left it back in the ring when Dexter Lumis spooked him. Possession is nine tenths of the law, and Hayes needs to drag Trick Williams into a Haunted House at Halloween Havoc to try and reclaim his property tonight.
Carmelo Hayes Wants Nothing To Do With The Haunted House
Trick Williams wanted to stay back and drive the getaway card, but Hayes pulled him towards the haunted house. Lumis & Gargano would watch on, and they set up cameras everywhere to keep an eye on Hayes & Williams as they trudged through the darkness.
Hayes thought he found Gargano, but it was a “dead kid”, not the NXT Grand Slam Champion. Williams offered to buy Hayes a replica belt – but Hayes wants HIS belt with HIS side plates on it. They’d get deeper into the depths of Halloween Havoc hell. We’d cut away to another segment, ready to return to this later in the show.
Joe Gacy & Harland Continue Their Strange Connection
Joe Gacy would have a few issues to air with Grayson Waller and the Halloween holiday, but lost his footing as he walked into a dropkick from Malik Blade. Gacy would slam Blade down, and Harland entered the arena looking like Micheal Meyers. Blade was losing control after his hot start.
The hulking Harland would grab Blade by the face on the outside, and Gacy tried to talk him down. Harland let him go, and Blade was dropped with a lariat in the ring. What Gacy & Harland have going on is certainly odd. Gacy was trying to calm the rage of Harland, and claimed that he was someone Harland could trust. This partnership is going somewhere, but where is that? Who knows.
Diamond Mine Open Challenge Answered By Odyssey Jones
Diamond Mine would hit the ringside area saying they’re giving everyone a special treat. An open challenge was open, with the choices of Ivy Nile or Roderick Strong in singles, or The Creed Brothers in tag team action. It was a pick your poison situation, with all outcomes meaning the same thing – destruction.
Odyssey Jones would hit the ring, and Bivens reminded him he was not 205lbs. He still wanted Strong, but it’s obviously non-title. Jones would take some of Strongs iconic strikes, before throwing Strong across the ring and into the corner. He’d block a boot and nail a body press, before some shoulder tackles. Strong would apply a tight sleeper hold, taking the breath of Jones down.
Jones was caught down with a dropkick, as Strong would apply a Cobra Twist on the mat. Strong couldn’t maintain it, so he’d move into a Calf Crusher instead. Keeping Jones grounded was his best plan, but he was kicked outside. Jones was back up and nailing some slams and a big shoulder breaker. The Creed Brothers played a distraction, and Jones was knocked out with a jumping knee strike, giving Strong the win.
