Tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live promises to bring two hours of WWE to fans all around the world, but two matches were seen by the fans in the Mohegan Sun Arena. However with the power of the internet, we know who was in these matches – and they will be no surprises to fans of NXT 2.0.
The Creed Brothers Squash Opponents Ahead Of Smackdown Live Going To Air
The first of the matches would see The Creed Brothers in a routine squash match for them. Most of the matches from the Diamond Mine tag team duo have been short, with them absolutely dominating their opponents with a variety of takedowns and suplexes. They are what WWE have been trying to make with Chad Gable & Otis as Alpha Academy, and their recent match with Imperium showed they can work a most contested tag team match as well.
Don’t expect them to linger long in NXT – in general expect Diamond Mine to be called up within the year. Who would have thought Roderick Strong would be the member of Undisputed Era to potentially make it to the WWE main roster when they formed? Not many, but he struck gold with this partnership.
Raquel Gonzalez Is On Her Way Out Of NXT, and Toni Storm Is Her First Main Roster Victim
This past week on NXT 2.0, Raquel Gonzalez would lose the NXT Women’s Championship to Mandy Rose, who got a huge help. Gonzalez was screwed by her former friend Dakota Kai, who hit her with a shovel. They seem to be set for a clash in NXT, which will likely see Gonzalez leave the brand to join Smackdown or RAW.
Fans got a look at Big Mami Cool tonight, but weren’t pleased to see Toni Storm be on the losing end of a squash match. Storm is a fan favorite for many due to her time in NXT UK and Japan with the Stardom promotion, but has failed to make an impact on the WWE Main Roster. It’s clear WWE would find more value in Gonzalez over Storm, with her being a proper heavyweight female with a marketable look.
Do you think Diamond Mine & Raquel Gonzalez will last in NXT until the 2022 WWE Draft? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
