Right now in AEW, Bryan Danielson has the golden ticket to the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. It wasn’t easy to get, and he sure as hell didn’t find it in a bar of Vegan Friendly Wonka Chocolate. He took out Dustin Rhodes, Eddie Kingston & Miro to earn his way to a shot at the World Champion… and is let down it’s no longer Kenny Omega.
Instead, he’s got Hangman Page to look forward to – and that’s not a dream match for Danielson. However, the end goal remains the same – to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Thankfully with Hangman Page as the goal, the path forward until the championship match is clear, and could get Bryan a lot of heat by the end from fans.
Bryan Danielson Has Hardly Been A Clean Cut Babyface In AEW
Since coming to AEW, Danielson has always maintained a slight heel edge. This was the clean Daniel Bryan we often saw in WWE. He’s been manipulating talent into matches, speaking down to fallen opponents and champions alike, and kicking heads in. From the start, the seeds of a heel character have been right in front of our eyes, just blurred by excitement.
He remained a fan favorite, because sure he’s being a bit unlikeable, but this is Bryan Danielson! Seeing him go all out in the ring makes you forget all that. However, he struck a chord on the latest episode of Dynamite when he insulted Hangman Page in his home state of Virginia – and this could be just the beginning.
Taking Down Dark Order In Their Hometowns, Week By Week
Taking out hometown boys is a smart way for AEW to put a lot of heel heat on Danielson, which should be possible provided they avoid the Pacific Northwest, where Danieslson is the hometown boy. We already know he has Colt Cabana next week in Chicago, which is not gonna be a pretty scene despite their technical wrestling skills. However, by looking at the road map of AEW, we have figured out his next two likely opponents.
After Chicago, AEW is in Georgia, home of Alan ‘V’ Angels of the Dark Order. Same directive as Cabana, stomp him into the mat. Next week, Long Island, home of John Silver. This one will get online fans mad as well, seeing as Silver is very popular with the AEW fans for his antics.
Will this be enough to get Bryan Danielson to be a hated heel by the time he reaches Hangman Page? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
