This includes ‘General Hospital’s COVID-19 Vaccine mandate. Since the Vaccine’s production for general use, it has been considered one of the preventive measures to avoid the spread of the viral disease. But not everyone agrees with its usage.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Steve Burton Confirms Exits The Show After 29 Years
Steve spoke out in a video on Instagram on the issue, “Well, I know there’s been a lot of rumors and speculations about me and ‘General Hospital’. I wanted you to hear it from me personally. Unfortunately, ‘General Hospital’ has let me go, because of the vaccine mandate.”
He also explained that he had tried to remain onset by applying for medical and religious exemptions but both were denied. He continued by saying, “But this is also about personal freedom to me, I don’t think anybody should lose their livelihood over this.”
He said he will always be grateful for the time he had spent at ‘General Hospital’, “I love it there; I grew up there. I grew up with some of you. I am excited to see what the future holds” Steve said.

Some cast members like Katelyn MacMullen, Maurice Bernard, and Josh Swickard reacted to this news on Instagram through Steve’s comment section, showed their support. Maurice Benard said, “it takes lotta guts 1 [will] miss you.”
Also, Steve’s co-star, Nancy Lee Grahn reacted on Twitter, it is other people’s business if a person’s actions due to their beliefs’ can directly affect the wellbeing of their loved ones. This statement seems to be a disapproval of Steve’s choice.
