The release of Keith Lee from WWE was about as shocking as it gets this year. Here was a man with all the tools to become a main event player- and WWE even recognized this seeing as he had a clean and fast PPV win over Randy Orton, and standoffs with Brock Lesnar & Roman Reigns. However, just like Braun Strowman & Bray Wyatt weren’t safe, Keith Lee was cut – and in 90 days he will be free to take the world by storm. We now have a statement from Lee about his release, his troubles in WWE and his path forward still being limitless.
Keith Lee Confirms His Health Issues, WWE Didn’t Help Pay For Them
The statement would be released via Twitter, and would say the following.
“Greetings and salutations. This day is my birthday! It is not a happy birthday, but it is one I am most grateful for. Several months ago, it was not a guarantee I would make it to this day, so there is positivity in that. I paid all my medical bills from the many offices and machines I frequented. There is positivity in that. And, I do find it amusing that people believe anyone but me paid for my medical expenses.
I was going to wait a couple weeks, but I think it’s time to look toward the future, forward march as I like to say. I am capable of so much more and I can’t wait to see what it looks like properly. I have a wide array of interests and abilities…. I also consider myself to be rather open minded. Here’s to a future that, for all intents and purposes….seems Limitless.”
Was It WWE’s Issue To Pay For?
WWE has had a weird history with what they pay for and what they won’t pay for. It seems random at best, though they will generally be helping out with injuries suffered in the ring. Keith Lee previously confirmed a daunting battle with COVID-19, which was likely where the medical bills came from. While most would think WWE would have an interest in paying the bills to keep their talent alive, but it seems in the year of constant budget cuts – they couldn’t be bothered.
One way or another, we still have Keith Lee. He’s here, and motivated to make a major return once his 90 days are up. Keith Lee is going to perhaps be someone to keep a very close eye too in 2022, with him perhaps being as big a name as ever before. WWE made him into a big name, and now someone else will benefit.
Are you surprised that WWE didn’t help Keith Lee out in those trying times, while he was under contract? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
