Meghan Markle’s brother Thomas Markle Jr has apologised over his previous comments in which he had told Prince Harry in a letter that he should not marry his sister.

Thomas and Meghan have not had the best of relationships ever since they became estranged when Meghan decided to marry Harry.
According to the letter at the time, Thomas had said: “[Meghan is a] jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage.”
But in an attempt to bridge that gap, he has now handed out an olive branch in the hope that it can lead to some sort of reconciliation.
During an appearance on ‘Australia’s Big Brother VIP’ he had apparently written a letter saying: “Dear Meghan and Harry, the first thing I want to say to both of you is that I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart for the awful, mean letter that I wrote to you prior to your wedding.”
It is not clear whether Meghan will ever accept this apology, given that nothing has really changed since Thomas’ prior comments. After all, they have not reached out to each other.
In addition, during that time, he has referred to his sister as being very selfish. He went on to accuse her of changing ever since she married into the Royal family, and in doing so, disowning her biological family.
A certain subset of fans, however, believe that Thomas has ulterior motives. First of all, given that he is on a reality TV show, he is looking to gain as much publicity as possible.
Secondly, given that Meghan is growing popular within the United States, he is hoping to follow suit. Nevertheless, Thomas wants to make amends now.
He added: “I want both of you to know it did not come from the real person that I am, but came from a very dark and hurt part of my heart. I am not a mean person at all, and I have more love inside me to give than anything.”
