Dakota Kai & Kay Lee Ray are no strangers to high risk matches, having both be involved in WarGames matches. This made no surprises to anyone when both stood up for their respective teams to be in the Ladder match tonight to pick which team has the advantage on Sunday. They will risk life and limb, to make things just that bit easier in the dangerous double cage.
Kay Lee Ray & Dakota Kai Risk It All
Before either lady even got the chance to hit the ring, the two WarGames teams would brawl it out. Dakota would throw KLR into a ladder near the ramp before throwing her into the ring. KLR blasted back with a superkick, sending Dakota to the outside where KLR hit a step up senton to the floor. Grabbing another ladder would lead to Dakota trying to take it, before being driven right into the apron.
KLR nailed another superkick, and Dakota nailed a slap after blocking the Gory Bomb to the apron. Dakota ran into position, and nailed a reverse DDT onto steel steps. Dakota would grab a ladder, but was unable to get it in the ring for KLR recovered. A suicide dive drove Dakota Kai off the announce table, before a front suplex onto the ladder caused more damage.
KLR would finally get a ladder set up and start the climb, only for Dakota to block and try to climb herself. Neither lady would get far, and Dakota would throw KLR right into the ladder before rushing in for a big boot in the corner. KLR would be choked in the corner, but came back with a front suplex. Instead of climbing the ladder, KLR would climb to the top rope – being chopped down by Kai before taking a double stomp onto the apron.
KLR Fights Smart And Gets The Win
A commercial break would come, with both ladies down in pain. Back from the break, Dakota would have a kneebar on KLR, using the rope for extra damage. KLR would roll outside, and nail a Gory Bomb, sending Dakota face first off the announce table. With one good leg, KLR started the climb – but Dakota was quickly there to stop her. Both climbed and exchanged blows at the top.
KLR was slammed face first off the steel and fell, and Dakota Kai came down with a double stomp instead of claiming the win. It landed, and KLR was seemingly out as Dakota climbed up high… only for KLR to pull her down through the steel and hanging her up. Superkick landed, and KLR would climb and get the advantage for her team on Sunday!
In the end it will be four on four, but now Team Gonzalez will have the advantage on the lead up to the match beyond.
Match Rating: 4/5 (****)
Cameron Grimes has a big problem coming on Sunday at WarGames, with Duke Hudson in a Hair vs. Hair match. However, first he will look to shut up the second loudest man in NXT 2.0 with Andre Chase. Hudson could look to add some more animosity to the coming match, and costing Grimes a match against Andre Chase could do just that.
Grimes would shoot for a single leg takedown, and Chase was able to block. A hip toss finally took Chase down, before he’d be sent to the apron. Chase would yank the hair of Grimes sending him to the mat, before a running neckbreaker for a two count. Grimes made the comeback with some running forearms and a big boot in the corner. Cave In would follow, and Grimes scored the win.
After the match, Hudson would congratulate Grimes on his first victory with a full head of hair. He’d show a photoshop of Grimes with Karen hair, a bowl cut and handlebar moustache, and him stone cold bald. To send a message, Grimes threw Chase back into the ring and grabbed some clippers, but his star pupil saved him!
