Ever since making her shock return at Summerslam, Becky Lynch has been having a blast in WWE. She’s reclaimed both the Smackdown & RAW Women’s Championship (but sadly not at once). Her matches have been excellent. Even better, she handles her business in the ring and goes right back into mother mode backstage. Lynch has truly been The Man since returning, even if her new nickname is Big Time Becks. However, she’s not just been paying attention to what is happening in WWE, but also in rival promotion All Elite Wrestling.
Becky Lynch Keeps An Eye On Everything In Wrestling
While speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Lynch would speak about watching more than just what WWE produces. She has been watching everything possible, just to make sure her act is as fresh as possible. Lynch also feels AEW & WWE can co-exist, saying the following.
“I watch everything. Competition is great. It’s great for the creative because I think it drives everybody. I think Vince McMahon works incredibly well when he’s pushed by competition. I think for the stars it gives options. If you don’t like vanilla, you can go with chocolate. If you don’t like strawberries, you can go with butterscotch. There’s options for fans, for wrestlers, and yeah it’s great.”
When directly asked about if she considers AEW as competition to WWE she’d say the following
“I consider them the alternative. Their product is different than our product. We offer a different product than they do.”
Set For Another Round With Charlotte Flair
Right now sadly, Lynch is stuck in Survivor Series mode which is always a bit of a down time creatively in WWE. They run a supercard of RAW vs. Smackdown, with no stakes and once again running just after a draft. Becky Lynch will be meeting Charlotte Flair at the event, as the top champions from RAW & Smackdown clash.
Despite what online fans tend to think, Flair & Lynch have not had an obscene amount of matches. Since 2014, they’ve met 18 times on TV. It’s more common than most matchups, but this will be their first one on one encounter since all the way back in 2019. With them being on separate brands, it will likely be the last they have contact, barring them crossing paths in the Royal Rumble if they lose their gold before then. After Flair, Lynch will have a fresh opponent in Liv Morgan – potentially helping to create a new star.
