Baton Rouge artist NBA YoungBoy could be said to be one of the voices of a generation of hip-hop fans. He managed to become one the industry’s most over performers on YouTube without a ton of radio or streaming momentum.
The weight of his YouTube output has definitely resulted in strong streaming numbers for him but now things could get shaky as the artist’s music videos have all been removed from his channel.
NBA YoungBoy Music Videos Removed from YouTube
When you check his channel, there are none of the music videos posted when they dropped. The only thing left is playlists featuring audio releases with images and album covers for those tracks. Searching on YouTube does show some recently posted music videos.
At the moment, nothing has been said about the music videos being deleted. YoungBoy’s channel weighs in at over 10 million subscribers with over 1.2 billion views. That following has led to him becoming the platform’s top artist three years running.
YouTube’s #1 Artist NBA YoungBoy Sees Music Videos ERASED from Platform
His momentum on the platform started back in 2018 and has only continued but now, the unexplained deletion of a roster of videos—many of which were bona fide hits—could be a bump in the road to that momentum.
It also leaves things up in the air about what NBA YoungBoy and his team will do for future music videos. Of course, this doesn’t mean that he won’t at least re-upload those music videos but this is definitely a head-scratcher.
Something that could contribute to his videos being deleted is his image and legal problems and the 22-year-old Sincerely, Kentrell artist’s manager Alex Junni has said as much:
“YouTube told us they can’t promote YB because of his image. Weak ass platform. Your #1 artist 3 years in a row.”
YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s body of work includes “Drawing Symbols”, “Kacey Talk”, “Through the Storm”, “No Smoke”, and “Bandit.” YoungBoy was arrested in late September 2020 on drug manufacturing charges as well as possession of stolen firearms.
When a warrant was served for these charges in March of this year, he attempted to flee. He was released in late October after paying roughly $1.5 million and is currently on house arrest.
