Actress Abigail Breslin Opens Up About Spending Christmas Without Her Father Following His Death From Covid-19-‘Some Days Are Harder Than Others’
Michael, for his part, had sadly died following his long battle with Covid-19. And given that the pandemic has disrupted the lives of many people around the world, it is no surprise that Abigail has been struggling to come to terms with what has happened to her.
As such, she has had to rally around the rest of her family in order to make sure that she was still able to see some positives at a time where families should be united.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she said: “My first holiday season sans my dada. I love the holiday season and am so thankful. I get to spend it with my mom, my brothers, my friends and my boyfriend. I’m truly blessed.”
One of the reasons why Abigail has managed to keep it together has been due to the support provided by her boyfriend Ira Kunyansky. The duo have apparently been dating since 2017, and their relationship has continue to go from strength to strength.
Had it not been for him, then things may have been harder to deal with. And yet, Abigail still admitted that she does struggle from time to time.
She added: “Some days are harder than others. Grief is a tricky little monster. I wish there was an expiration date to missing someone, but I had almost 25 great years of having an awesome dad.”
Nevertheless, she vowed that she would continue to be as happy as she could. After all, that is what her father would have wanted.
And by doing this, it will inspire others to do the same and show the importance of spending time with family and cherishing those memories before it’s too late.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “Nonetheless, I’m going to heavily cherish those who are here and hug them harder than ever. Merry Christmas to all … and to all, a good night.”
