With how many iconic moments have happened at Daily’s Place for AEW, it’s hard to remember that some of AEW’s fresher signings have never made their way there. One of these names is CM Punk, who will show up in Daily’s Place for the first time ever tonight. Last week he teamed with Sting & Darby Allin to defeat MJF & FTR – a match which saw MJF flee from Punk the whole time.
CM Punk IS Done With MJF
Punk would soak in the moment, and didn’t know the layout – so took a second to find Jim Ross and welcome him back to AEW. For those who don’t know, Jim Ross kicked cancer’s ass. Punk is about giving people their flowers while they are here, and when they aren’t. He was thinking about Brodie Lee in this arena, and anyone who has tried to minimize his impact clearly never met the man. The tribute show held in this arena made Punk want to come to this company.
MJF meanwhile doesn’t seem to want to be in this company. He gets into the ring with Punk after weeks of trash talk only to run away. MJF claims he’s done with Punk, and he’s fine with that. Punk got to team with Sting & Darby Allin and beat him. He gets it, and if MJF is too scared – that’s fine. Punk has bigger fish to fry, and wants to become the AEW World Champion. If you don’t want to be the champion, you probably don’t want to be here – and Punk wants to be here.
MJF is a waste of Punk’s time, and a bigger waste of Khan Money than even Tim Tebow. Punk will leave the fans with one statement – that he proved to MJF that no one can touch him. If MJF wants to climb to the top of AEW, Punk will cross his path again – and he’s more than ready to stop that ride to the top.
Sammy Guevara Makes A Promise To Defeat The American Nightmare
Following losing his TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes, Sammy Guevara had a message for the fans. He took out Bobby Fish, Ethan Page, Jay Lethal & Tony Nese during his reign. Five matches as champion ain’t bad, especially with it lasting three months. But it ended in 2 Cross Rhodes, a Tiger Driver and three seconds.
However, that is a memory he won’t forget. New Years is coming, and Sammy Guevara has a resolution. He will defeat The American Nightmare, and become a two time TNT Champion – or die trying.
