Jake Paul is already looking past Tyron Woodley to a more lucrative opponent and predicting how the right match could make him the next Muhammed Ali! Both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are on the cards, according to the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who addressed the press at the open workouts ahead of his rematch with Tyron Woodley this weekend.
When asked about Nate Diaz and their repeated spats via Twitter, Paul was optimistic. “Look, there’s a lot of sh*t talk going back and forth, and I would love to make that fight happen, if it’s even possible.
Jake Paul Says He Could “Become The Next Muhammad Ali”… by fighting Nate Diaz?
I know he’s with the UFC, so whatever happens will happen. But that’s a massive fight, and I think the people need to see that one. I’ve got to get through Tyron, maybe Tommy [Fury]. Who knows? Maybe Nate Diaz, maybe Conor McGregor. The road path is massive right now.”
Paul and Diaz have traded barbs via Twitter ever since Jake Paul first entered combat sports. Nate Diaz remains one of the biggest stars in the UFC, ever since his breakout in the early days of The Ultimate Fighter. Despite losing some of his edge in the Octagon in recent years – Diaz is currently on a two-fight losing streak – he is still a huge pay-per-view draw.
Nate Diaz, interestingly for Jake Paul, is up to the final fight in his UFC contract, and may choose to chase his fortunes elsewhere. Offering a “Stockton Slap” to the YouTuber might be exactly the sort of thing that appeals to Nate Diaz when his UFC contract eventually runs out.
As for Jake Paul, he says Tyron Woodley is a harder fight than Tommy Fury, even though he already has a victory over Woodley under his belt.
“Tyron’s definitely a harder fight than Tommy Fury. Way more experienced. Tommy Fury’s never been past four rounds. Tyron Woodley’s been in there with killers, absolute monsters.
He’s more experienced, he’s stronger, he’s faster. So Tyron’s definitely a harder fight, but I already handled him, light work the first time. I’ve gotten ever better, sparred 200 rounds since the last fight, and you’re going to see a different version of me.”
He also said that Woodley has allowed being a “loser’ to become a “habit”. ““He already lost, so when you do something, it starts to become a habit.
When you’re a loser, it becomes a habit. And that’s been the case so far for Tyron. So what does he have here? What career does he have ahead of him? I’m 24 years old, I could take over the world, I could become the next Muhammad Ali at the rate this is going.” The next Muhammed Ali! – do you think Jake Paul could be the next Muhammed Ali?
