It has been quite some time since Kairi Sane has entered a wrestling ring. When she left Stardom to join WWE, fans had confidence things would go well given the smash success of Asuka in WWE NXT. Kairi would win the NXT Women’s Championship and become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Asuka, before moving back to Japan to be with her husband. She remained with WWE as a brand ambassador, but her time with WWE could be at an end.
Changing Her Instagram Name To Remove WWE
While nothing solid has yet been released in regards to the status of Kairi with WWE, but we have a pile of hints coming from her social media accounts. Firstly, she dropped WWE from her Instagram handle, now going by official_kairi. She now also notes herself as a “Former WWE Superstar and WWE NXT Women’s champion.”
On Twitter, she recently hinted at a return to the ring – responding to a fan saying they missed her in the ring with a cheeky ‘wink’ emoji. It’s worth noting that she still has WWE in her Twitter name, being @KairiSaneWWE. On November 27th, she tweeted out an hourglass emoji, showing something is coming soon.
Where Will Kairi Sane Return To The Ring?
Adding all this information up has led fans to wonder not if she’s returning to the ring, but where. WWE is an option, with the Royal Rumble coming anything is possible – she might have just wanted to change her Instagram name. Stardom is her original home, and as they grow bigger and bigger in Japan – having one of their legends return to face the new crop of talent would just give dream matches.
AEW have a high focus on Joshi Puroresu in their women’s division, with names like Riho, Emi Sakura, Hikaru Shida, and more having made an impact in their division. Adding The Pirate Princess in will just give another big name, one perhaps bigger than all that came before her.
