Last night on Monday Night RAW, the Kabuki Warriors were unsuccessful in taking the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from Bayley & Sasha Banks. It was an incredible match, but they would fall short. Asuka is still confident that at Extreme Rules, she will successfully retain against Sasha Banks. So much so, that she’s already entertaining her next potential challenger: Kairi Sane.
The Challenge Came On RAW Talk
While on RAW Talk, Samoa Joe would ask Asuka a simple question. After Extreme Rules, what would you think about defending against your tag team partner. Kairi Sane would say “If you want that match, I’m ready for Asuka.” Asuka would reply saying she wants to face her as well. There have been title matches made from less, and it would be classic match in the making.
A Potential Main Event For Evolution 2
There have been rumors swirling that very soon, we will see a WWE Network Special, the sequel to WWE’s first all womens PPV: Evolution. This has been something people have been wanting for a long time now, and while it would be wise to wait for fans, there is nothing stopping WWE from running an all womens supershow from the Performance Center.
In the quarentine era of WWE, the women have been the most consistent performers of all. Asuka is arguably the MVP of it all, giving incredible performances wherever she goes. Add in the great runs of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Io Shirai, Nikki Cross, Alexa Bliss, The Iconics and so many more. There is more than enough here for a PPV across all three brands, and it would likely be one of the best shows of 2020. We could see the payoff of Sasha Banks vs. Bayley after months of build, Io Shirai has many strong potential challengers, and Asuka vs. Kairi Sane alone would have people tuning in. The only champion that would be missing is Kay Lee Ray, the NXT UK Women’s Champion.
If Evolution 2 is simply a rumor, this could be our RAW Women’s Championship match for Summerslam. Kairi Sane is likely out of WWE soon unless she agrees to another deal, and if her final match for the company is an epic with Asuka, few will complain.
