After being awarded the Montana ranch she shared with Brandon Blackstock during their marriage, Kelly Clarkson was hit with a curveball in which she can’t evict him from the property.
Kelly Clarkson Loses Bid to Evict Brandon Blackstock from Montana Ranch
Blackstock was Clarkson’s manager and is the son of her previous manager. The two married in October 2013 and had two children in those seven years. Clarkson would file for divorce in June 2020 and won primary custody of their kids that November.
Kelly Clarkson Is Unable to Boot Ex-Husband From Her Court-Awarded Montana Ranch
The divorce rolled on and Kelly Clarkson was declared legally single in July 2021 before things were wrapped up on her marriage to Blackstone in August. However, there is always some bump in the road during life after divorce for both sides.
As Us Weekly reported, Clarkson has been pushing to have Blackstock (45) evicted from her Montana ranch. Blackstock has settled in and Kelly’s attempts have been thwarted by a judge.
The Unresolved Financial Aspect
While “What?” was my first question, the important question is “Why?” The judge determined that Brandon Blackstock doesn’t have the money to purchase his own residence right now.
A source close to the situation noted that the judge hasn’t gotten around to officially signing off on the order but that things are definitely in Clarkson’s ex-husband’s favor at the moment. The source told Us Weekly:
“He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce.”
It seems like an issue of Blackstone being accustomed to a certain level of comfort afforded to him by their seven years of marriage but what do you think?
Was Blackstock simply thrown a bone by the court? Shouldn’t he be able to get some sort of residence of his own having been a talent agent and manager for Kelly Clarkson? Let us know in the comments.
