Meghan Markle was reportedly upset by the backlash she received in response to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex showing her ‘fun side’ on her recent appearance on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
Royal Expert Claims Meghan Markle Was ‘So Upset About The Backlash She Received’ Following Her Ellen DeGeneres Appearance
That is according to Royal expert Neil Sean. Meghan Markle, for her part, opened up about her life prior to joining the Royal family. And as part of that interview, she had agreed to participate in a prank alongside Ellen.
During the prank, Ellen DeGeneres would tell her what to say through an earpiece, as she went on a shopping experience while engaging in conversation with the various stall owners as she made funny remarks.
While that was seen as an attempt to make Meghan more relatable, the very fact of the matter is that she ended up being ridiculed for it. One of the people who came forward to slam the appearance was none other than her father Thomas Markle.
Although this could have been expected given that the pair are not on the best of terms, the reaction from the UK press was also not very kind.
In an official statement, Neil said: “Meghan is apparently taken to indoors as we say over here in the UK because she’s so upset about the backlash she received after appearing on the show.”
Nevertheless, Neil felt that Prince Harry should have had an input to try and minimize any damage that may have occurred. However, it is important to bear in mind the following.
First of all, the UK and US media are completely different. And given that Meghan is an American citizen, her appearance was praised by the US press.
Secondly, Meghan has managed to build a name for herself by being able to cross over into the celebrity world, while still maintaining influence in other areas.
He added: “Even Prince Harry thought this was a good idea to show her fun side. Perhaps they should have gone on together, how fun that would have been. Sadly for Meghan, it didn’t come out that way.”
Meghan is certainly pulling out all the stops to endear herself to the public. Hopefully, next time around, she will fare much better. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to expend great efforts to get the public to like them, but is it working?
