A TikTok video went viral after one user spoke on how she was stuck on a British Airways flight due to a positive Covid test.
TikTok Video Goes Viral After Passengers Were Stuck On A British Airways Flight For 5 Hours After Pilot Initially Tested Positive
According to reports, the pilot of the plane had tested positive for Covid-19. Therefore, that was the last thing that people wanted to hear when they were getting ready to go on their flight.
As such, a replacement pilot was needed in order to ensure that the plane could take off. But getting that was easier said than done and something which did take a lot of time.
In the video here, we can see that the user is annoyed by what has happened. The video was captioned by the following comments: “Thought I was going away to escape corona.
“Pilot just got a text saying he tested positive so we’re all stuck on the plane.” However, things did not get any better for the following reasons.
First of all, the passenger had to stay on the plane for an apparent 5 hours. Therefore, that added unnecessary anxiety and stress to the flight experience which was already going to take time.
The pilot’s following comments confirmed as much: “What we’re currently doing is looking for another pilot to take my place and that process is ongoing.
“But it’s not going to happen quickly and at the moment, we have got people in the process of trying to find someone.”
Secondly, to add further insult to injury, it turns out that the test was a false positive. As such, waiting for 5 hours is one thing, but when it is done knowing that it could have been avoided, it only goes on to make the experience a lot more painful.
Thirdly, to wrap up the whole experience, the passenger was given the following as a way of a gesture for her troubles. She remarked: “Update: they kicked us off 5 hours later and gave us £4 food vouchers.”
In their defence, British Airways did apologise for the inconvenience that was caused to the passengers. But that will not take away the anguish that was initially caused.
