After weeks of waiting following the WWE contract of Kyle O’Reilly coming to an end – AEW has been able to get the original lineup of The Undisputed Era on their roster. Adam Cole arrived first, with Bobby Fish arriving soon after his WWE release with the old reDRagon theme song. Kyle O’Reilly was offered big money to stay in WWE, but chose to leave and join AEW instead – and Tony Khan was thrilled with this choice.

While speaking with PWInsider, Khan would state the following about getting someone like Kyle O’Reilly on the roster.
“I’m very excited about Kyle joining AEW. I’m excited that Kyle debuts this week on Dynamite. It’s a huge match, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly debuting as a trio in AEW against another one of the top trios in AEW, Orange Cassidy, Trent, and Chuck the best friends. It’s a dream match for a lot of our fans, and it’s also something that I had no idea would be possible at the start of the year. It is absolutely a dream come true to reunite Cole, Fish and O’Reilly in AEW and I think it’s very fitting that they debut as a trio, and that Kyle O’Reilly makes his AEW debut, period, in Daily’s Place, this week on the last show of the year. I think this show is going to have a really surreal feel.”

While it’s been a while since the Undisputed Era have been a unit, with them splitting up around the start of 2021 – and Fish being injured for the bulk of that time, fans still remember just how big this group is. Even without Roderick Strong, these are three of the best in the world today, and a big reason why NXT was such a popular brand following their debut.
They have numerous Match of the Year level performances under their belt, and now they have the freedom provided by AEW to help produce more. Starting off with the trio of Chucky Taylor, Trent? Beretta, and Orange Cassidy is sure to be a show stealing match, and one that might just start their path to forcing AEW to recognize them with trios gold in AEW.
