Meghan Markle has been given a great excuse to avoid visiting the UK in light of Prince Harry’s legal tussle over whether he can fund his own security.

That is according to Royal expert Phil Dampier. Reports indicate that Harry will not be returning to the UK on the grounds that it is no longer safe for him to do so, unless he has adequate security.
And given that it does not look like he will be allowed to fund it, he has been engaged in some legal turmoil. This new saga ,then, would justify Meghan’s decision to stay away from the UK.
In an interview with The Sun, Phil said: “I don’t think Meghan will ever come back to this country and I think this is a very good excuse for not coming back – I don’t think realistically (Harry) expects to win this case.”
Not only would it provide Meghan with an excuse, it could also play into the hands of Harry for the following reasons. First of all, he is set to release his tell-all memoir this year.
Therefore, if he were to reveal any incriminating information on members of the Royal family, the last thing that he would want to do is enter the UK knowing that the press would exert their scrutiny on him.
Secondly, given that it is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration next year, the very fact of the matter is that Harry would be opening himself up to criticism in comparison to the other members of the Royal family that have stood by the Queen in light of her difficult 2021.
Phil added: “Getting his protection reinstated would set a precedent and so it gives them the perfect opportunity to say we can’t come to platinum jubilee celebrations.”
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that security is important. The trespassing incident at Windsor Castle last year on Christmas day demonstrated that.
While there were no injuries, on another day, the Queen could have been in danger had security not intervened. Hopefully, this issue can be put to bed once and for all. Time will tell.
