Prince Charles is reportedly worried about the prospect of taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth after she dies and becoming King.
Prince Charles Is ‘Pretty Terrified’ About The Queen Dying And Then Becoming King
That is according to Royal expert Penny Junor. The prospect of this actually happening are increasing by the day, given that Prince Charles is next in line to the throne.
Not only that, with Queen Elizabeth not getting any younger, Charles could be thrust into the limelight at any given moment. This would understandably cause him some hesitancy in light of the background politics that has been emerging.
Prince Andrew’s sexual assault allegations have tarnished the Royal family, with reports indicating that Prince Charles was one of the people that influenced the Queen to remove his military and charitable titles.
In addition, the growing saga caused by his poor relations with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has also not helped matters. But for Penny, it is much more than that.
She feels that Charles would find it difficult to cope with the death of his mother, especially since Prince Philip had also passed away last year.
During an interview on the ‘Podcast Royal’ podcast, Penny said: “He is a very emotional man and a sensitive man, he did take the death of his father very badly.
“He takes the death of any loved one to heart and I think it would be, it’s devastating for him as it is for anyone who loses a much-loved mother.”
Nevertheless, death is something which everybody has to deal with and being a member of the Royal family is no exception to that. However, Prince Charles would be inheriting the monarchy at a time where the world is not exactly in a stable manner.
The pandemic has led to an increase in division across the globe with growing tension over whether life will return back to normal. Therefore, there is always the possibility that Charles may not cut the mustard.
Penny stated: “I think that I am sure that he is pretty terrified of the whole prospect.” Prince Charles will have to prepare himself in case that day does arrive. After all, there has been a lot of expectation put on him.
