Prince Harry has been slammed over his 24 million dollar Spotify deal on the grounds that he could lead to spreading Covid-19 vaccine misinformation.
Prince Harry Blasted For His Spotify Deal After The Platform Was Accused Of Spreading ‘Anti-Vaxxer Material’
The primary bone of contention seems to be the fact that Prince Harry will be releasing his content on the same platform as none other than Joe Rogan. The latter has recently been bashed on social media after his content was deemed to be spreading anti-vaxx views.
Although Prince Harry is ultimately in charge of what he wants to do, the very fact of the matter is that his insistence on tackling Covid-19 vaccination misinformation in the past has now led him into some hot water.
A source said: “Refusing to cut ties with Spotify after they’ve aired anti-vaxxer material is incredibly two-faced. If he was that principled, and meant what he said, he’d cut ties, even if at a personal financial cost.”
Furthermore, this move also does not look good for Prince Harry when we look at what other stars have also done. Musician Neil Young demanded that Spotify remove his music or the Joe Rogan podcast in protest – and now superstar Joni Mitchell has joined Young in demanding her music be taken off Spotify.
And given that Spotify were forced to respond to this, there is a feeling that Prince Harry should be doing the same by virtue of the influence that he has.
In a statement at the time, Neil Young revealed: “Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.
“Let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.” These views were echoed similarly by Royal expert Angela Levin.
There was a feeling that Harry would not be taken seriously unless he stood by the words that he was echoing. And yet, the prospect of missing out on a huge sum of money, may be playing on his mind.
In an interview with The Sun, she remarked: “Now here he is working and earning money from a company [who have employed someone] who is an anti-vaxxer.
“It doesn’t make any sense, but it does conform with his regular hypocrisy.” Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
