Prince Harry has been urged to go back on his memoir and stop it from being released as a way to patch things up with his father Prince Charles.
Prince Harry Urged To Not Publish His Tell-All Memoir As It Could Cause ‘More Harm To Harry’
That is according to Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams. The primary reason why Richard feels that this should be done is because of Charles’ decision to recently praise Harry in a US publication on the grounds of his dedication to protecting the environment.
This was seen as a significant move at the time because not only did it demonstrate that Charles was trying to reach out to Harry, it was the first time within a decade that Charles had personally spoken to a US publication.
And given that Harry has now settled himself within the United States, it is safe to say that this was only done with the intention of trying to reconcile. In a statement, Richard said: “[Charles’ move was an] olive branch.”
The response from the public, however, was very mixed indeed. A certain subset of people felt that Harry should go along with the memoir because going back on it would demonstrate that he is weak and thus still tied to the Royal family.
After all, by not going ahead, it could inadvertently lead to suggestions that Harry had made his previous criticisms of the Royal family up in order to get attention.
Meanwhile, others argue that this would be the perfect opportunity to show Charles that Harry is willing to end this feud once and for all.
In a poll conducted by the Express, one reader said: “I don’t think Charles need dread it. The Harkle believers will love it, the non-believers will dismiss it.
“It will be an irrelevance really that will do as much, if not more harm to Harry than it will the Royal Family.”
However, with there being so much anticipation in the run-up to the memoir, Harry risks losing out on a huge amount of money if he were to pull the plug. And if he did so, it would signal to others that backing Harry would not be the wisest move.
