A TikTok video went viral after a nurse claimed that she had seen one of her patients out and about shopping shortly after testing positive for Covid-19.
TikTok Video Goes Viral After Nurse Sees Her Patient Shopping Despite Telling Her To Self-Isolate Following A Positive Covid Test
It is no secret that following a positive test, guidance suggests that the person should be self-isolating in order to prevent others from getting sick. But in reality, people have many things that they need to juggle in their daily lives, which can often get in the way of doing that.
And one of those includes making sure that supplies are in the house, especially in a pandemic where there are always worries about shortages.
This all came to a head in the following video. In the video here, we can see that the nurse has witnessed her patient who had tested positive in a shopping store waiting in a queue.
The video is recorded with the song ‘Gangster’s Paradise’ being played in the background. The post was captioned by the following comments: “When you see the patient that you swabbed earlier who tested positive for Covid in the line at Ross.
“I told you to stay home and recover sis.” The video instantly went viral with over 1 million views and counting. A certain subset of people felt that the nurse was right to be concerned.
After all, if others were expected to abide by such rules, then it is only natural that she should be doing the same.
Meanwhile, others felt that regardless of what you thought about the patient, the very fact of the matter is that this was something which was not the business of the nurse concerned.
This is specifically true since the incident had occurred outside her work-related duties. One person wrote: “I’ve given up on people having common sense, morals, and a conscience.”
While another stated: “And this is why it will NEVER GO AWAY.” It is not clear whether the nurse ended up approaching the patient, but it is safe to say that this incident probably left her embarrassed given what she had known about the person.
