Big E has been proving he belongs as WWE Champion after claiming it with a cash in, but tonight is his hardest challenge yet. He has not one, not two, but three opponents to worry about – and they’re all former World Champions. Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley are all looking for gold to start off 2022, and Big E doesn’t even need to be involved in the finish to lose his gold. Add in a last minute Brock Lesnar, and you have a massive match to kick off 2022.
Brock Lesnar Clears The Ring Fast
One by one, these five hit the ring – and once Lesnar was in, everyone went to Suplex City. He’d look for the F5 on Rollins, and Owens made the save before Big E took Lesnar out of the ring. Lashley would meet Big E on the outside, and be slammed into the ringpost. Lesnar got speared through the barricade, before Lashley took out Owens & Rollins in the ring.
Taking too long on the suplex would allow Rollins & Owens to get the edge on Lashley, before a dive took Lesnar down and Rollins set him up for an apron frog splash from Owens. The steel steps would be used to keep Lesnar down, before Owens threw the announce desk covering on him. Lashley would block a suplex through the table, only for Big E to slam him through it.
Big E Gets Dropped By The F5
Big E walked into a superkick from Owens, before Lesnar was hit with a DDT onto the steel steps. Back in the ring, Big E hit the Uranage on Rollins, before taking the pop-up powerbomb from Owens, with Rollins soaring in with a frog splash from out of nowhere for a two count.
Lesnar would hit the ring and nail a series of F5’s, before being plowed with a spear from Lashley. Hurt Lock would be applied on Lesnar, but Big E made the save before hitting Big Ending on Lashley and looking for one on Lesnar. Instead, he’d take the F5 – and we have a new WWE Champion!
