During a time when the WWE is brining back anyone and everyone they feel can help get eyes on their product, such as Johnny Knoxville in the men’s Royal Rumble, Ronda Rousey’s been rumored to return for the Women’s Royal Rumble.
Fightful Select reported that there’s a major push from inside the WWE to get her back for the Royal Rumble and has been labeled a “poorly kept secret” as it’s been mentioned to talent outside the WWE.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer that Rousey’s “on the books” for WrestleMania 38, and getting there through the Royal Rumble would be the best and easiest way to go.
Was wondering if you’d show up again. I’ve still got her and she’s doing great😘 https://t.co/71meimu8Ns pic.twitter.com/Xy0IMfGUoY

Welcome back
Becky Lynch wasted no time in welcoming Rousey back, if she does return, as Lynch took to Twitter to say:
“Was wondering if you’d show up again. I’ve still got her and she’s doing great😘”
Since Lynch pinned Rousey during their triple threat match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35, no one has defeated Lynch for the championship as she relinquished it to Asuka when he was pregnant.
It’s been reported that Rousey has been training since she left the business following that match for her and her husband to start a family, and since she gave birth in September is helps these rumors gain steam.
It’s safe to say Rousey will be the odds on favorite to win if she does return to the Rumble, and a rematch with Lynch seems logical since the ending for their WrestleMania match looked like it was botched.
Rousey legitimately got her shoulder up and the ref didn’t see/ignored it and that resulted IN Lynch winning the Smackdown and Raw Women’s Championship.
This will give them a jumping off point for their storyline as Rousey can point out that Lynch didn’t actually beat her and it’ll play up Lynch’s heel persona and allow Rousey to return as the crowd favorite.
Plus, that was Rousey’s only loss in her brief WWE career, so she’ll want to avenge that as well.
Mixed bag
If Rousey does return, and it appears highly possible from what we’ve seen so far, it’ll be interesting to see how fans react after a couple of weeks and will they we willing to wait until WrestleMania for them to face off?
We’re going to find out some answers this weekend, but until then there’s plenty of fun speculation we can all enjoy on who’s returning for the Rumble and who will win.
