Katy Perry has made a bizarre fashion statement after she was pictured wearing Covid-19 testing kits as earrings.

It is no secret that musicians are having to abide by Covid regulations, which often require their fans to test negative before coming into a concert venue.
While that has become divisive in and of itself, Katy did not hold back on her support for Covid testing. So much so that she has now started to use Covid, as a fashion tool.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Katie shared a post of herself as she showcased the earrings. And yet, for all the ridicule that may have been coming her way, it is important to bear in mind that Katy has suffered at the hands of Covid.
At the back end of last year, she had reportedly been on course to perform at SNL before a Covid outbreak prevented her from doing such a thing in light of the Omicron variant.
And as you can imagine, she was not best pleased with the news, given the amount of preparation that had gone on behind the scenes to get everything in order. In a prior statement, she remarked: “I am devastated and heartbroken.
“Myself, caroline, christine and all of our crews and teams have worked so hard all week alongside the snl team to bring the most amazing musical performance to life. It can’t happen this time but i’ll be back.”
The latter is precisely what happened. Katy managed to make a return to the show over the weekend. And by the looks of it, her performance went down very well with the audience especially in light of how long they had to wait to finally get to see a glimpse of her.
And this was reflected in the social media comments that followed. A significant proportion of people got behind the singer. One person wrote: “This was POP perfection – truly one of a kind !! So proud of you ILY.”
While another stated: “Agree! Mom we love you. You killed those performances. And holy moly those vocals!” Despite the initial disappointment, it was well worth the wait.
