When it comes to WWE programming in 2022, one of their most entertaining acts is the duo of Riddle & Randy Orton. Collectively known as RK-Bro, they recently came off a lengthy run as RAW Tag Team Champions – one of the best reigns in recent memory. There is a great level of chemistry between Orton & Riddle, which saved this team from not just being a one night deal.
Randy Orton Was Supposed To Turn On Riddle During The First Night Of RK-Bro
While speaking with NXT UK’s Mark Andrews on the “Love Letter to Wrestling” podcast, Riddle would speak about the original plans of RK-Bro. Initially, after just a single night, Orton was supposed to turn on Riddle. Riddle has the following to say, while revealing this news.
“He was supposed to turn on me night one. Literally, he was supposed to turn on me night one and then Vince and the crowd and everyone liked it so much that they were like, ‘Are you guys willing to see if this works?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ We like working with each other, we’re friendly. Randy was gone for three months, I just kept the team afloat and talking about Randy. ‘He’ll be back soon.’ I had no idea when he was coming back.”
RK-Bro still have not broken up at the time of writing, despite several teases. With several months until Wrestlemania, there is potential this Orton will still turn on Riddle – and set up a big time singles match for one of the two nights of Wrestlemania action.
Currently, Riddle is set to compete for the WWE Championship in Elimination Chamber. RK-Bro are still feuding with Alpha Academy over the RAW Tag Team Championships at the same time, as Riddle defeated Otis to qualify. Plans can change rapidly in WWE, and with Riddle having originally been planned to win the Royal Rumble – it’s possible beating Randy Orton will move him to a main event level instead.
